Editing Policing DAOs

Policing [[DAO|DAOs]] leverage information at the edge and the collaboration tools developed under the [[DAO Governance Framework project|DGF project]] to prevent many social ills, improving legacy policing by providing greater transparency and efficiency.

=== Sexual Trafficking Policing DAO ===
A Sexual Trafficking Policing DAO can offer rewards for information that leads to the successful prosecution of any sexual trafficking crimes. The pseudonymity of a [[DAO#Primary DAOs|primary DAO]] enables reporting with less chance of discovery and recrimination. The transparency of a primary DAO proves the protocols for reward distribution are valid, and that the protocols for reporter security are valid. This creates greater motivation to participate in reporting crimes than legacy institutions of policing can provide. The transparency of a primary DAO structure prevents much of the current corruption that plagues legacy policing. The global openness of primary DAOs allows supranational participation, which eliminates much of the international bureaucratic obstacles to justice. The DAO structure promotes the adoption of multiple protocols for interacting within and between jurisdictions. 

Similarly, protocols for self-reporting victimhood can be developed so that victims can more safely attempt to access aid from the DAO. The pseudonymity, transparency, and openness of a DAO improves outcomes in the same way that direct reports do. Also, confessions can be incentivized when the protocols for criminal punishment under self-reporting are transparent and verifiable.
