Goals[edit source]
This wiki necessarily starts with a main author. That's apparently me. And that's awkward for many reasons. Most importantly, the technology and format is best served by a diversity of authors with different viewpoints.
There is an inherent tension, maybe even a contradiction, at the heart of the idea of a DAO. As an organization, the group must be united around a common purpose, a common goal, a common set of values. They must agree on a set of acceptable behaviors and standards--their protocols must be centralized. On the other hand, a DAO is necessarily decentralized. That's it's power: decentralized perspectives and control and talent and knowledge.
So especially in a wiki devoted to documenting the project, we need a diversity of opinions and perspectives. We need to have someone start it and set some inertia to the wiki in the beginning. But we also need alternate voices to round out the discussion. One person's perspective is too narrow to serve this project. Without a comprehensive initial treatment of the documentation, we can't have a coherent document. But the more one person adds, the more difficult it is to add a dissenting opinion.
Therefore every word I personally add to the document both improves and damages the wiki. The sooner people with a harmonic perspective join in the documentation, the better it will be for eventually incorporating seemingly discordant perspectives which make the project greater.
